How Second Sight collects, uses, and protects your information, and what rights you have over it.
Who we are
Second Sight is a bookshop and press for mentalism, magic, and psychic entertainment, operated by Phelan Psychic Productions LLC, a limited liability company registered in North Carolina, United States. Our website is parrishmentalism.com.

We do not sell your personal information. We never have and we do not intend to.
What we collect and why
When you buy something. We collect your name, email address, and billing address. If your order includes a printed book, we also collect your shipping address. We use this to take your order, deliver it, send you receipts and download links, and answer you if you write to us about it.
When you pay. Card payments are handled entirely by our payment processor. Your card number never reaches our servers and we never see or store it.
When you download a file. We record which products your account has access to, and when downloads occur. This is how we grant you access to what you bought, restore it if you lose it, and defend against fraudulent chargeback claims.
When you start a checkout and do not finish it. If you enter your email address at checkout and then leave without completing the order, we may store that address and the contents of your cart so we can send you a reminder. You can opt out using the link in any such email, and you can ask us to delete the record at any time.
When you join the register. If you sign up for our email list, we store your email address and, if you gave it, your name. You can leave at any time using the link at the foot of every email.
When you write to us. If you use the contact form, we receive whatever you put in it, along with your name and email address, so that we can reply.
When you browse. Our web host and security systems keep standard server logs, which include IP addresses and browser information. These keep the site running, protect it from attack, and help us diagnose faults.
Who else touches your data
We work with a small number of outside services to run the shop. Your information goes to them only so far as it is needed to fulfil your order or operate the site. In the ordinary course of business this includes:
- Our payment processor, to take payment and handle refunds and disputes.
- Our print partner, for printed books only. Your name and shipping address are passed to our print on demand partner so they can manufacture and post your book. They receive nothing else. Customers who buy only digital products are never sent to them.
- Our web host, which stores the site and its database.
- Our email provider, to deliver order confirmations, download links, and, if you subscribed, our newsletter.
We do not permit any of these providers to use your information for their own marketing.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, where we must to establish or defend a legal claim, or where it is necessary to investigate fraud.
Cookies
We use cookies that are strictly necessary for the shop to work. These keep your cart intact between pages, keep you signed in, and support caching so the site loads quickly. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not sell data to advertisers.
How long we keep things
We keep order records, including your name, contact details, and what you bought, for seven years. Tax and financial record keeping requires it, and it is the evidence we would rely on in a payment dispute. Download and access logs are kept for the same period, for the same reason.
Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Abandoned cart records are kept for 30 days and then deleted. Contact form messages are kept for as long as is useful to resolve the matter, and then deleted.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to object to how we use it, or to receive it in a portable form.
To exercise any of these, write to contact@parrishmentalism.com. We will respond within forty five days. We will not treat you differently for asking.
Please note that we cannot delete records we are legally required to keep, such as completed order and tax records, until the retention period above has passed. If you ask for deletion, we will remove everything we are free to remove and tell you plainly what must remain and why.
If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
Purchased files are stored outside the public part of our website and cannot be reached by guessing a web address. Access is granted only after payment. The site runs over an encrypted connection.
No system is perfect. If a breach ever affected your personal information, we would tell you and the relevant authorities as promptly as the law requires.
Children
This shop is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under sixteen. If you believe a child has given us their information, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes
We will update this policy when our practices change. The date below will always tell you when it last changed.
