What Practitioners Are Saying
“Absurd About Astrology is truly Christopher’s Magnum Opus!
This is a substantial, worker-focused project that meaningfully advances the current wave of prop-less Mentalism. It’s a coherent toolkit for creating readings and full performance pieces centered on Astrology and star signs. But where the book really earns its place on a professional’s shelf is in its deep dive into framing.
Christopher relentlessly steers you away from ‘look how clever I am!’ reveals and into using Astrology as a vehicle for useful, emotionally resonant readings.
There is clear, practical thinking on how to disguise a method as a meaningful process. The emphasis on disguised ambiguity, listening skills, and living as a poet and artist feels much closer to seasoned reader-thinking than to typical magician-level thinking! I feel this book genuinely elevates how this type of material is perceived. This is not a skimming book; it rewards those willing to internalize a few key structures and then live with them in real-world performance.
For the working mentalist who wants modern, prop-less leaning material, this is a highly recommended addition to your library!”

“Absurd About Astrology: The Complete Works is a modern-day treatise on the star sign divination. Christopher is passionate about this subject and provides a lot of hard-earned wisdom and knowledge. If you are new, or even knowledgeable, in this area of Mentalism, you will find good value here. Reading the book feels like being brought up to speed by a knowledgeable expert.
He shows you countless ways, all tried and tested in real working environments, to both secretly gather and then reveal a person’s star sign. There is a lot of flexibility and variety described here. Each approach feels layered and unique, often revealing the depth and various angles that can be exploited with a star sign. This is not the same tired approaches we’ve all seen.
But, more impressively, it shows how to get more out of a star sign than the common direct throwaway reveal we see far too often. Hopefully, these illustrations will inspire and compel us all to do better with all of our reveals.
‘Dalí’ is one of my favorite examples of this in the book, such an excellent approach! I will enjoy performing it! If you are exploring what’s possible with star signs, then do yourself a favor and read this book!”

“Your book is fabulous! Your writing style reads like a transcript of you speaking directly to me; that is a welcome change from most magic books that seem clinical to me. Very enjoyable: Five Stars!
I love your thoughts about performing Mentalism. Make it feel real to the audience instead of like a riddle that they need to solve. No version of ‘twenty questions’ in your performances!”

“I highly recommend this book. Unquestionably the best resource on the topic of zodiac divination.”

“Absurd About Astrology: The Complete Works is not a collection of push button tricks, but expert level techniques for propless (and propless SEEMING) zodiac divinations. The closest comparison I can make is the original Psychological Subtleties books.
While some techniques may not ‘fit’ every performer who reads it, there’s enough solid, usable material to create your own effects and routines. While I read through the entire thing already, I know I’ll be continuing to study & reference this work for years to come.”
